Travis Czekalski has been creating public mural artworks professionally since 2010. Formerly a member of the artist collaborative duo “Rather Severe”, he began his solo art career in 2024. His distinctive visual language extends across murals, illustration, animation, and public art, with the goal of inspiring local communities and enriching shared spaces. Over the past 16 years he has worked to bring large-scale murals to cities across the United States, painting in at least 12 states from coast to coast and participating in six public mural festivals.

Working in different cities allows him to engage with new communities, broaden his understanding of place and culture, and share his perspective on the role art can play in public life. These experiences continually shape and expand his creative practice. Travis’s projects are developed through close collaboration with both residential and commercial clients. He invites clients to share their vision for a piece and works with them to translate those ideas into artwork through his own distinctive visual language.

His work is often vibrant, playful, meticulous, and thought-provoking, adapting in style and approach to respond to the unique character and opportunity of each project. He is currently based in Southern Vermont with his wife, pets, and many close friends.
